Updates

Monday, December 1...all LA students need to bring a large brown paper grocery bag to school for a gingerbread man project. We also need donations of buttons, any size or type, and packs of white "rick rack." Thank you so much!

All SS students need to bring their invention research to school on a jump drive on Monday.

Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!  I am so thankful for all of my wonderful students. They truly are a special group!!

Immigration

Our SS lesson yesterday was "immigration." Great timing considering the president's executive order. We mentioned it briefly today, but didn't discuss it in depth. Take some time to discuss it this week. It's a great teaching moment!

SS students engaged in Growing Groups...

Students had to collaborate on main ideas of sections of SS text, then combine those into a summary.
Groups of two turned into groups of four, then combined into groups of eight. Great discussions on the Labor Movement throughout!

Holiday Preparations

On Monday, December 1, each child will need to have one large paper brown grocery bag.  We will be making gingerbread men with them.  Please pick up one or two over the Thanksgiving break.  There are always children that will forget, so extras will be put to good use.

We also need a few packages of white "rick rack."  That will be used as icing on the gingerbread men.

Lastly, we will need buttons.  Any size and shape will do.

Thank you for any donations you can make!
