Updates

Report Cards went home today.  They are full of information, so please go through the envelope carefully!

We had a camera malfunction today, but ask your child what they learned in SS.  We discussed Henry Ford and the assembly line.  We became the Upchurch Motor Company making edible automobiles!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Homework

Finish your 2 box graphic organizer for your information writing.  That means all parts, including your conclusion must be complete.  We will begin writing our rough drafts next week.  These papers are going to be great!

Welcome Back!

It was great seeing all the students today!

SS homework:  Finish questions 1 - 10 in your WWI comprehension packet.

Go on your student portal and check out the new look.  See if you can find the place where I give you assignments.  I have assigned lots of LA activities.  See if you can complete a few.

Ask your child about our new mantra:  Kind and Accountable in 2014!   Ask them what we did to remind ourselves of that.

Ask your child about our new writing assignment, How Persuasive Writers Have Changed the World.

Happy New Year!

I hope you are all having a wonderful break! Only a few more days until we're back together again!  Check your supplies. You probably should bring a fresh pack of paper and a box of pencils.  We can always use class donations of sticky notes and fine point black sharpies.  Make sure you have a highlighter too!  Think about how you want the second half of 5th grade to go for you.  Set some goals and make a plan. A new year is a fresh start! I can't wait to see everyone and hear your stories!
