5th Grade ELA

It's becoming obvious that many students are not studying their Word Study words each night.  Please encourage your child to master the meanings of these 15 words each week!  Even though they are not to turn in paper homework, their homework is to study these words nightly.  Please watch the parent portal for their grades. Thank you for your support!

5th Grade SS

We have our Chapter 8 test on Thursday, January 31.  Please be studying your chapter paying close attention to highlighted vocabulary.  Also look at the questions after each section. Also be sure to study the chapter review at the end of the chapter.  Review your homework assignments carefully and know the three graphic organizers we used for this chapter.

Science Fair Club

Everyone did such a great job on the science fair!  I am really proud of all the students' efforts!  You are free to take your board home from the media center any time it's convenient for you.  If you want your score sheet from the judge, you may get that from me any time.

I do need to meet with the six students that are advancing to the County Fair.  We need to look at your feedback and tweak your boards.  Please meet this Thursday morning, January 31, at 7:40 in my room.  This meeting is for:
Ian
Alice
Rachel
Bill
Lauren
Jeungsok

Thank you so much!

5th Grade SS Project

Each student has been assigned one leader from WWII.  They are to begin biographical research on their leader.  They will be writing biographies on these leaders soon. The writings will be from the leader's point of view.  For example, "I am Winston Churchill.  I was born and raised..." The biography will not be long, less than one typed page.  Try to find information about WHY the leader became the positive or negative influence he was on the world.  Final papers will be due Tuesday, January 29.  Please work on your research a little bit each night!
